I cook lunch at home now
Apr 13, 2026This morning I had a 10am meeting. No agenda. No Zoom link. Just chickens.
I walked outside, checked on the girls, and sat with one of them on my lap for a few minutes. Then I came back inside and got to work.
That's my life now.
I wake up and check on the chickens first thing. I make breakfast without rushing. I settle into work when I'm ready. Some days I bake a cake at lunch. Most days I cook a real meal in my own kitchen. I take an afternoon walk. I go for a bike ride at 5.
It didn't always look like this.

I used to sit in traffic or ride the bus to an office. I used to grab fast food at lunch because there was no time for anything else. I used to squeeze in exercise when I could, which was almost never.
And time off? That was a whole production. Putting in the request. Waiting for approval. Feeling guilty about it.
Now I just close my laptop when I'm done.
I'm not saying every day is perfect. I work hard. I have deadlines and clients and responsibilities. But I built something that fits my life instead of the other way around.
If you've been wondering what it would feel like to work from home, set your own hours, and stop asking permission to live your life, I want to show you how.
I'm hosting a free training called the VA Business Launch Pad starting April 23rd.
You'll learn what a Virtual Assistant actually does, how to know if you have the right skills (spoiler: you probably do), how to find clients without cold calling or awkward DMs, and how to price your services so you make real money.
