The Virtual Assistant Connection: Put Your Business on Display

One of my goals as a Virtual Assistant has always been to have a presence that’s as professional as possible, so that I can attract high quality clients who are willing to pay my hourly rate.

I’ve done this by paying attention to the details of my business: my business card, my websitemy LinkedIn profile, and the way I interact with clients, to name just a few things.

What I didn’t expect is that by keeping my business technologically current and professional, I would also be building a digital “display case” of my skills and capabilities.

Here are some examples of how I highlight my capabilities and professionalism to clients and others:

  1. My newsletter. Not only has my RocketGirl newsletter, RocketFuel, served as a great way to generate business and keep me in touch with my network, it’s also planted a “newsletter seed” in the minds of all my 1,500 subscribers. The result? When one of them wants to start their own newsletter, they ask me to help.

  2. Credit card processing. My clients buy my time via credit card. Since the time I set this up on my website, I’ve had dozens of requests to do the same for clients.

  3. Automated scheduling. When I installed Acuity Scheduling software on my website, I was trying to eliminate all the back and forth via email to schedule meetings. It definitely worked. And … (I think you can guess what’s coming) … it’s led to at least 15 clients asking me to set up the same service up for them.

These are just three examples; there are many, many more.

I love that focusing on making my business better and more user-friendly for my clients has led to them asking me to help them in similar ways!
