Staying in touch with the people you know is a great way to get clients and grow your business. In order to do that, you’ll need to have their email addresses organized, in one place, and ready to use.

You’ll want your list to be as large as possible, to make the biggest impact when you contact them.

For starters, I suggest connecting with everyone you know on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms. Then send them a message and ask if it’s ok to add them to your email (getting their permission is important).  Review those people that you email on a regular basis, too, and ask them the same thing.

Another way to grow your list is to create a lead magnet, also known as a “freebie,” to invite people to join your list in exchange for the valuable download you’ve created.

Once you’ve got your list together, here are just some of the things you can do to grow your business:

  1. Announce your business
  2. Send out regularly scheduled valuable content (newsletters)
  3. Send event invitations
  4. Send stay in touch emails
  5. Promote events
  6. Engage current and potential clients

Keep in mind that for your list to stay useful, you’ll need to keep it “warm,” meaning you engage with these people on a regular basis. Growing your list is always a priority, so keep looking for new people to add as you expand your network.
