When You Feel Stuck, Try This

The VA Connection: When You Feel Stuck, Try This

I got back from Scottsdale late Thursday night.

A week away from my desk. Time with friends, time with my brother, a conference with my business coach. It was exactly what I needed.

And then I came home, sat down at my desk, and thought: I don't know what to do next.

You know that feeling? Where everything feels like white noise in your head and you can't remember where you left off?

For years, that feeling used to derail me. I'd avoid looking at what actually mattered. I'd busy myself with easy tasks that didn't move anything forward.

But here's what I've learned after 15 years of running my own business:

"I don't know what to do" is almost never true.

What's actually true is: I'm not lost - I'm just re-entering. And that's fixable.

So here's what I did. I sat down. I took a minute. I looked at the notes I'd left on my desk before I left. And I reprioritized what I'd work on first.

That's it. Ten minutes later, I was back on track.

The old me would have avoided that moment. The now me embraces it.

Because I've learned to trust myself.

I trust that I know what I'm doing - even when I temporarily forget.

I trust that clarity comes from action, not from thinking harder.

I trust that re-entering is a skill, not a mystery.

If you're feeling stuck right now - maybe during the pre-holiday chaos, maybe after time away, maybe just because it's December and everything feels busy- try this:

Sit down. Breathe. Look at what's in front of you. Trust that you know more than you think you do.

This is the quiet work of building a business. Not just learning skills. Becoming someone who trusts herself.
