The VA Connection: It Doesn't Make You Selfish

Have you ever thought: "What if my life looked different?" I remember when I did.

At first I didn't believe I could change my life that much. I wondered what it would be like to have more flexibility. I wondered what it would be like to have more time at home.

The biggest hurdle to creating the life I really wanted was giving myself permission to even tell the truth about what would look like.

Maybe you're there right now. Maybe it's a job that's draining you. Maybe it's a season of life that doesn't fit anymore. Maybe you're home with kids and wondering what comes next. Maybe you're retired and realizing you're not done yet. Maybe you just have this feeling that there's something more.

Wanting something different doesn't make you selfish. It makes you honest.

I was 50 when I started my VA business. I was coming out of a marriage that wasn't working. I was starting over in ways I never planned. And I had this feeling that the way I'd been living, playing different parts depending on who was in the room, was not the way I wanted to live anymore.

So I built something different. I built a life where I got to decide. I built a business that supported the lifestyle I wanted. I worked when it fit my schedule and took time off when I needed it, without asking permission.

It didn't happen overnight. But it happened.

And here's what I want you to know: You don't need a dramatic reason to want something new. You can just want something that fits better. That's enough.

If you've been wondering whether this is possible for you, the answer is yes.

You can do this. You can start VA businesses in the margins of your life. Build up a client base. Create something that's yours.

If that's what you want, you can have it.
