Put Your Business on Display

One of my goals as a Virtual Assistant has always been to have a presence that’s as professional as possible, so that I can attract high quality clients who are willing to pay my hourly rate. In this episode of The RocketGirl Show, I'll give some examples of how I highlight my capabilities and professionalism to clients and others.

My name is Belinda Wasser, also known as RocketGirl. And today we're going to talk about how to put your business on display.

When you're a Virtual Assistant, one of the most important things you can do is treat your business as a business and create a beautiful display for your clients to see your amazing work. Look at this. I love this picture. Look at all the colors and the textures. It's a wonderful, wonderful image of what's possible. If you go inside this bakery, now, I want you to do the same thing for your own businesses. So let's talk about some skills that you can display that will be a showcase for your clients to see what you're capable of, because that's what it's all about, showing them what you're capable of, everything, newsletters, email, newsletters I need. So if you know how to create a newsletter, I would create one for your business. In fact, I have a whole course that is, about this, including the content it's called The Done For You Email Newsletter System.

And if you sign up for my course, that's about to launch the VA launchpad. You get it as a bonus. So learn how to send a newsletter out, send it out on a regular basis. And what will happen is clients and potential clients will say, I want to do a newsletter to, can you show me how? And you say, you bet because you've done your own and you can show them an example of yours and other people's. When I say everything, what I mean is once I add the, I send the newsletter out, I added to my WordPress website again, displaying that I know how to update a website. I put it on Facebook, LinkedIn, whatever social media I'm currently using. And again, my clients see it and potential clients see it, and they see that I understand how that works. So that's one thing to put on display. Social media, I just mentioned either publishing from your newsletter or finding content Inc magazine or Entrepreneur magazine, or other interesting things that will be of particular interest to your clients.

Credit card processing. I started taking credit cards. Oh gosh, I've been in business 10 years today and probably year eight and a half. I started taking credit cards. And so what happens is all of my clients come to my site and put their credit card in and buy time in order to work with me, what that shows them is that I know how to set up credit card processing. And I've done this probably 15 times. So by displaying your skills in this way, and even having your clients interact with them, it shows them your abilities.

Automated schedulers. I'm talking about Acuity. Schedule once, time track is a time tracker time. I can't think of the name of it anyway. Um, there's lots of different ones out there. The key is to pick one Time Trade and to use it on your website, to show your clients and potential clients that you know how to use this.

My favorite is Acuity. So it's set up on my website and when my clients, some of them want to schedule time with me. They click the link and they just jumped right on my calendar, showing them how easy it is and how wonderful it would be for them to have the same functionality. I've probably set it up for 20 people over the years to chain.

Website updates. Website updates are another way to show clients what you can do. So you want to keep your website up to date with your blog, posts your contact information because updating websites, while it doesn't happen all the time for, for clients, they probably update them, you know, once or twice a year, you want to show them that yours looks fabulous and that you know how to, you know, to use the skill.

Here's a really interesting example, Kajabi. So for the VA connection and before the VA connection, I never heard of Kajabi, but I wanted to find a really amazing platform to, to host our community. So I was told Kajabi was a great way to go. Since I use Kajabi, I have three rocket girl clients, because I've asked me, do I know Kajabi? You bet I do, because I spent so much time working on our community using Kajabi. So it's almost as if potential clients and clients have this like ESP, um, about, you know, new skills. And so as we're expanding our skills, by learning how to make our businesses more solid, our clients will see these skills. They'll ask us to do the same work for them, and it's a win, win, win, win. Really good idea. Okay.

So before we go, I just want to invite you to my free online classroom. It's called The Virtual Assistant Connection, and you can find us on Facebook. It's almost 6,000 members. It's a very robust community. Lots of people who are thinking about being VAs or have been one for a while, you'll find all kinds of information, videos like this newsletters and a community that is so thoughtful and generous with each other, answering questions, lending a hand. It's really wonderful. So come on over click the join button and I would love to welcome you until next time. I'm Belinda Wasser, RocketGirl, signing off. Bye bye.
