General
I keep getting a security message each time I click on a link to another page. Why is this happening?
You are receiving this message due to your browser security settings and because this site is certified by a security certificate (SSL) to protect your information.
This mostly happens in Internet Explorer. You can change the way this browser displays mixed content from both secure and non-secure servers as follows:
In IE, go to Tools > Internet Options and choose the Security tab. Choose Internet, and then click the Custom Level button. Scroll down until you find the option that says Display Mixed Content, choose Enable, and click OK.
Graphics & Images
What format is best to upload images to my listings?
The best formats are either a JPG or non-transparent GIF file. If you upload a transparent GIF, the background of your image will become black and will not look good.
I uploaded a logo to my listing, but it is distorted. How can I fix this?
The maximum size of a logo is a of 200 x 200 pixels. Your image may be resized automatically to fit this area and it should not distort your image. If this happens, our staff will notice it when reviewing your submission and will attempt to fix it before approving it for release. If however you are changing your listing that does not require approval, just contact our support team at info@thevaconnection.com and we will resize and upload it for you.
Membership
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payments via PayPal only at this time. All premium memberships are set up as PayPal subscription payments meaning you will need to register with PayPal prior to purchasing one. Once you have registered with PayPal, you may fund your monthly subscription payments with your PayPal balance or with a credit card on file with PayPal. You can change your funding source at any time or cancel your subscription at any time.
Will you bill me each month, or can I pay via monthly PayPal subscription?
All premium memberships are automatically paid via PayPal subscriptions. These can be cancelled at any time prior to each month’s billing cycle.
Can I change or remove my membership at any time?
Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your membership at any time.
I am not a Virtual Assistant, but have products or services for VAs. Can I register as a member?
Yes. You may register if your business offers products or services that can benefit VAs. However, all new listings are approved by The VA Connection staff and per our Terms of Service, we reserve the right to edit or remove listings which we feel do not belong in this directory of resources.
Listings
As a member, am I allowed to submit more than one business listing in the Subcontractor category?
No. All members are allowed only one business listing IF they are interested and available to accept subcontract work from other VAs. The Connection provides resources to new, aspiring, and veteran VAs and is not intended as a business directory.
Can I list the same item in more than one category?
Yes.
How long will it take for my listings to be placed on your website?
All listings must be approved before they are released to the system to be viewed. We will review your listing and approve or decline it within 48 hours during regular business days. Once approved, listings are immediately live.
Will your staff delete event listings after the event has taken place?
Typically, no. All listings are managed by each member. Our staff may intermittently review listings for validity and dated materials, and will notify members when appropriate. If there is no response or no apparent reason for the information to be active, we do reserve the right to remove these listings to keep our content fresh and updated.
